Bits and Pieces

Did anyone else notice that InFANity was not on last night at eight. I feel like I’m going a little crazy, because TV Guide listings said it was. I just didn’t want to miss seeing CM! But apparently, it’s supposed to air today too, at 2:00 pm, and again tomorrow at 11:00pm.
Also, in sort-of CM related news, Mandy Patinkin is thriving as a musician. Take a look at this article in today’s Sun Times News Group for more info. I still love Mandy Patinkin! He’s also going to take to the stage, in a production of The Tempest this summer. It’s good he’s doing what he loves.
Also, one more thing. Valeria, an Italian reader of Watching Criminal Minds and big fan of the show has asked for some help. Here is her comment:
Hi Katie! I’m an italian student, fan of criminal minds!
I’m really interested in product placement and I’m studing this phenomenon, comparing italian and american tv.
Could you help me? Did you, or someone else, notice some brands or products in a particular episode?
I remember, for exemple, Garcia using a Nintendo ds, in the first season.I really need your help
thanks
I can’t think of any products off the top of my head, but I’ll keep an eye out. If anyone has any answers for Valeria, it’d be appreciated. Also, you might try Criminal Minds Fanatic…I know during the strike, they listed a bunch of the sponsers that appeared in each show, so they may be able to help you with product placement as well.

Hmmm products, well they have computers and I think we have seen which kind, but I do not remember, in Ride the Lightening, the women in jail eats a Happy Meal for her last meal. They talk about what kind of guns they use, but I hope to god that isn’t product placement. They do drive those black SUVs all the time, so that IS product placement, on the X Files they drove Taurus’ for the first 7 years.
Mandy is one of the greatest entertainers of our time. His stage shows are fabulous, especially the one in Yiddish. He was George in ‘Sunday in the Park with George’ and NO ONE has been able to touch that level of performance in that part.
He thrives as a performance artist because he gets the immediate responce of an audiance and cannot spend hours, like on a set waiting for his face-time with a camera, to dwell on how bloody the show is.

Mollie,
That’s so strange…I turned on the TV Guide channel at eight…nothing…well, American Idol. The same thing happened on Friday when I tried to watch it at 2. I feel a little better that I missed the 5 billion commercials. Thanks!
Lociloco - I agree. I love Mandy Patinkin and think he’s definately suited for what he’s doing now. It’s good to hear from you again!
