I bet he doesn’t like it when people call him Dawson. James Van Der Beek is also one of the guest stars of Criminal Minds. In “The Big Game” and “Revelations,” he plays Tobias Hankel. These are two of my favorite episodes - so exciting. Tobias has multiple personalities (which they don’t figure out until later). The team tries to save Reid after Tobias kidnaps him.
James is most well known for his role in Dawson’s Creek, but he also played in The Plague and Varsity Blues.
Here’s a clip of Dawson’s Creek, so much teenage drama!

I’m also putting this clip from “Revelations” on because I have a little crush on this video. It’s very exciting and the music is great.

The original Charlie’s Angels: Jaclyn Smith, Farrah Fawcett, and Kate Jackson.

On a recent episode of Criminal Minds, Kate Jackson played the mother of Agent Prentiss. “Honor Among Thieves” has Jackson as an ambassador who intervenes on behalf of a kidnap victim’s family. She uses her status to skip over the usual protocol and asks the BAU to help. At the end, when talking to her daughter, she says it feels nice to be needed again (she’s an ambassador without an assignment). For a full recap check out TV.com.
Kate Jackson has won two Emmys and four Golden Globes. And who’s cooler than one of Charlie’s Angels?
Check out this video from Youtube. It’s the opening sequence of season two. You have to love a show that referred to three woman as “little girls” going to the police academy.

And who doesn’t love a Simpsonized version of the Angels?

dj_qualls.jpgI saw the movie, The New Guy, a LONG time ago. I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that it makes me laugh. The tall, skinny, goofy looking guy looks a lot like someone I know…maybe that’s why! The new guy, DJ Qualls, has been in a bunch of things: Delta Force, the classic Road Trip. He’s guest-starred on Criminal Minds, CSI, Lost, Scrubs, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, My Name is Earl, and Monk.
The episode of Criminal Minds, “Extreme Aggressor”, DJ plays Richard Slessman. (For a full, detailed episode recap go to TV.com Slessman is a creepy suspicious guy, and DJ Quall really does a great job playing him.
DJ was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when he was 14. The cancer spreads from one group of lymphnodes to another. While this was the first form of cancer curable by radiation, then later, the first form to be curable with combination treatment, it is still very dangerous. Qualls attributes his thin frame to aftereffects of the chemotherapy. After two years of chemo and surgery (he had his spleen removed), DJ’s cancer went into remission. He went on to study at the University of London and later became a model for Prada and Calvin Klein (Matthew Gray Gubler was also a Calvin Klein model back in the day).
Here’s a trailer for DJ’s movie, The New Guy. Don’t feel like you have to watch it after…a lot of the funny parts are in the preview.

In an episode called “Boogeyman,” which CBS reran a couple of weeks ago, the agents go to a small Texas town because three children have been murdered within one month. They institute a buddy system - no child goes anywhere alone, they all have to have a buddy. Through interrogating their only suspect, the team figures out that it is in fact the suspect’s young son. That day, another young girl doesn’t make it home. Tracy is with her buddy, Jeffrey, the child-size killer, who is making her walk through the woods. Eventually, Jeffrey gets mad at her because she is tired and throws her book bag. He then goes after her with a baseball bat. The fiesty eight year old kicks him in the knee and runs for it. Meanwhile, the agents and police are running through the woods trying to find them. As Jeffrey winds up to take a swing at Tracey’s head, Gideon grabs both him and the bat, while JJ moves in to help the young girl. The little girl who plays Tracey is Elle Fanning. I’ve seen her name but for some reason it didn’t click with me until today that she is Dakota Fanning’s sister.

Elle was born in 1998 and has already starred in several movies. Six movies in various states of production are due out in the next few years. She was in Daddy Daycare and played the younger version of Lucy (older version played by Dakota) in I am Sam. She’s also guest starred on a bunch of tv shows: another episode of Criminal Minds (The Evolution of Frank, II), CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Judging Amy, Law and Order: SVU, and House, MD. , among others. Quite an impressive resume for an eight year old.
Check out Elle in “Boogeyman.”
