Soccer stud DAVID BECKHAM has beaten out TV stars ROBERT BUCKLEY and MARIO LOPEZ to land at the top of a new poll to find the owner of Hollywood’s Best Abs.

Rounding out the top five are Aussie star Hugh Jackman and actor Shemar Moore.
“Criminal Minds” star Shemar Moore, 38, works on his fabulous abs — even on the set.

“I’m not gonna lie. I’m vain, like anybody else,” Moore told the magazine, which is on newsstands now.

“No Way Out: The Evilution of Frank” airs tonight at nine on CBS and should garner great audiences again. I’m really excited to see the numbers when the new season starts - I think it is going to be a great season in terms of viewers and quality. Can’t wait! Just a little over a month to go!

Flashpoint was #14 - has anyone seen this? I always think it looks good, but honestly, 10:00 is past my bedtime lately. I do want to check it out soon though.

Tomorrow night, CBS will reair “No Way Out” part II. This is the beginning of the end for Gideon, and one of the best episodes of Criminal Minds. CM’s main competition for the nine o’clock timeslot will be the Olympics on NBC, Super Nanny on ABC, and the Sarah Connor Chronicles on FOX. I think we’ll see another week of great ratings for CM.

This Haitian-American beauty will be joing the CM cast for a little while. While both AJ and JJ are on maternity leave, Meta Golding will step in for a bit. She has been in shows like JAG, CSI, Cold Case, House, and a bunch more. I’m sure she’ll make a great addition, even if she’s temporary!

Also, as to who blew up….here are some clues:

Who’s Safe? You can officially eliminate Garcia from the list of possible SUV-explosion victims. Kirsten Vangsness herself told me: “If you shoot a girl during the season, you probably don’t blow her up.” True dat.
Who Blew Up? I get the feeling that Thomas Gibson’s Hotchner might not be so safe. See, I asked Kirsten if we’d be seeing any more of Nicholas Brendon as her hacker boyfriend, Kevin Lynch, and she told me, “Yes, I think so, but before that, we have a very interesting arc with a gorgeous hunk-a-ma-lot named Thomas Gibson. We spend a lot of time at first dealing with his issues.”

And here’s some news about another favorite, Dr. Reid:

We will learn a terrifying secret from Reid’s childhood that explains why he’s so attracted to serial killers. According to Matthew Gray Gubler: “I just read an episode that has an incredibly dark history for Reid. He had a terrible thing that happened in his childhood that comes out, causing delayed nightmares. It explains why he’s so attracted to serial killers. The last page, I was like, it all makes sense. It’s super dark…like cable-style dark. I’m sure the fans will hate it, and I’ll love it.”

Ooh, I think I know! Is Dexter Morgan his brother?

That’d be like combining two awesome shows and two hot guys! YAY! Anyway, this makes me even more eager to watch the new season!!

Tonight’s episode is “No Way Out” part one. This is where Gideon first meets Frank, prolific and eerily calm serial killer. He’s played by Keith Carradine. Awesome, awesome episode. It’s on CBS at nine.

Old School Hawaii 5-0

I know I’ve heard of Hawaii 5-0, but I’ve never seen it. I’ve never had the urge! Something about technicolor old school tv doesn’t do it for me. I just read that this show was on from 1968 -1980. That’s incredible! Anyway, CBS is bringing this classic back. Ed Bernero, CM exec producer, is working on this project, as well as two others. One is called Washington Field, which is being done with collaboration from the FBI, and a drama about apprehending a fugitive. Here’s a quote from THR.com:

Like the original series, it is a procedural chronicling the workings of the fictional Hawaiian state police department. In the original, the unit was headed by Steve McGarrett, played by Jack Lord. In the new series, McGarrett’s son Chris will be the top cop.
While the characters, storytelling and pacing will be updated, “we will try to keep as much of the original show as possible,” Bernero said. “I’m not trying to reinvent it.”

The other show, Washington Field, is being helped out by Jim Clemente. He is a former FBI profiler and terrorism expert, and also a consultant for Criminal Minds. I believe he wrote or cowrote “Lessons Learned,” which was the episode where Gideon, Prentiss, and Reid go to Guantanomo Bay.
Washington Field is named after the elite Washington Field Office’s National Capital Response Squad (of which Clemente was a member). “If the police need help, they call them,” said Bernero, who is penning the project with brothers Jim and Tim Clemente. “It’s almost like ‘The A-Team,’ but it’s real.”

There is a new Criminal Minds book called Finishing School. It’s available for pre-order at Amazon for only $6.99, which is a great deal, and will be out in November. I can’t find a description of the book thus far. A lot of sites are actually describing the plot of the second CM book, Killer Profile, so I’m not sure what kind of case the BAU is working on in the book.

In other CM related news, Mandy Patinkin is headed to Broadway. From Buddy TV:

Mandy Patinkin will be playing Prospero in William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, which will be shown at the Classic Stage Company beginning Thursday, September 3.

The 55-year-old former Criminal Minds star debuted in 1980 on Broadway with Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Evita, playing Che. He later won his first Tony Award for the role, and four years later was again recognized with a nomination for his starring role in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Sunday in the Park with George. In 1991, he headed back to Broadway with the Tony Award-winning musical, The Secret Garden. Six years later, he held a one-man concert aptly titled Mandy Patinkin in Concert, followed by numerous solo concerts and stage musicals.
