Let the Reruns Begin

Tonight, Criminal Minds is on at TEN. At eight to ten is George Strait: ACM Artist of the Decade All Star Concert. We’ll be seeing “The Instincts” again, in which the team investigates the kidnapping of a boy in Las Vegas. This was a good episode as far as that plot, and the subplot deals with Reid having disturbing dreams about his childhood. This leads into the conclusion, “Memoriam,” in which Reid investigates a boy’s murder that he thinks is connected to his own childhood.
Jane Lynch guest stars as Reid’s mother - she is absolutely hysterical. In this role, she’s subtly funny and a perfect choice for Reid’s mom. In her other roles (Best in Show, Two and a Half Men, and a million other things), she is hilarious. CM episodes with her are always worth watching.
Tune in - even though it’s a rerun, it’s a great episode.

Saw her on the preview of Glee and she was pretty awesome. I’m glad they’re rerunning the show, since I missed so much this season and I I just now got DVR so I can record CM and watch my Bravo reality shows ‘live’ instead. I did get to see this episode, though and loved it.

I will have to watch Glee just for her! I kind of like reruns - a lot of these episodes are very re-watchable. Hope you like seeing what you missed! And you’re the Lost fan - traitor! Just kidding - my little sister is addicted to that show.

The first time I watched this episode I groaned at the end of the first half, because I didn’t want Reid to have been a victim of child abuse. I thought it was just too much if he had been abused as well as a genius as well as being awkward etc etc…. I thought it would drown the character. Thankfully, they went the other way and it wasn’t Reid and it wasn’t his father. Whew!
I did not like the whole “he (abuser) deserver to die and let’s protect the killer” subplot. I agree that child molester’s should be punished very seriously, but vigilante murder is not a good thing.
In the end, maybe there was a little thawing between father and son and certainly, momma Reid came through with flying colors so we can see how Reid has a firm and true psychological base in his personality.
And as mentally ill as she is, she still came through as a protector, which every mentally healthy child needs when they are young.
