More Goodness
Shemar Moore attended a benefit for the Amar’e Stoudemire Foundation. This foundation was established to help nonprofit organizations provide support to at-risk woman and children, at-risk urban youth, and minority youth. The foundation funds such things as mentor programs, sports and recreation programs, access to technology, and leadership training.
Amar’e Stoudemire is an NBA player for the Phoenix Suns and established the foundation in 2005. His childhood has been described as “hellacious” - his father died when he was 12 and his mother was in and out of prison. He turned to God and Tupac for support - and basketball. He started playing when he was 14 and went on to become Rookie of the Year in 2003, several time NBA All Star, and Olympic Bronze metal winner in the 2004 games.
Amar’e has shown tremendous fortitude and he’s giving back. I have so much respect for people who not only thrive but also help others in return. Shemar Moore is one of these people too. He could just sit back and enjoy his fame (and good looks!) but he is always at charity events, not the least of which is helping raise money and awareness for MS. With all the horror stories we hear of celebrity misdeeds, it is nice to hear of such warm, caring people who are doing something for the good of others. I respect Shemar Moore’s acting, and I respect him so much more as a human being.
Aside: The Golden Globes were held last night - and CM should have won something!! But if you want to get some info on your other favorite stars and shows, check out the great blogs at 451Press. You’ll find a bunch of up-to-date news and pictures, like on Brad Pitt Watch.

CM doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Look at the ratings. I’ve love Shemar since he played Malcolm on Y&R. Wish I could find a good fansite for him.

I know…the ratings are so much better than other shows. Shemar won an Emmy for his work on Y&R…hopefully, CM will get some recognition soon.
