Prentiss/Demonology
Finally! Some more Paget. In tonight’s episode, “Demonology,” Prentiss has some connection to a victim in a series of killings. According to FearNet, the killings or deaths occur during exorcisms. These kinds of episodes scare the crap out of me. When I was little, my mother (hi, Mom) wouldn’t allow us to watch The Exorcist or even read the book, so I have a Catholic fear of demons. We also weren’t allowed to have Ouji boards. Apparently, a priest is doing rogue exorcisms. I guess that there not as common in real life as they are on TV, and this guy is not going by the regulations that the Church sets out. So the question is: is he helping fight a demon or is he just plain crazy? Hmmmm. TV Guide did an interview with Paget regarding this episode and Alex O’laughlin’s upcoming episode. Here’s a clip, and for the rest, click here.
TVGuide.com: Might “Demonology” change the way we look at Prentiss?
Brewster: Possibly. She has a past and it’s a little controversial, as to how she knows this victim, a friend of hers from when she was a teenager in Rome. She asks Hotch, “Can I look into this?” And then she uses her position as a federal agent questionably in seeking out the truth. And there is something that happened to her as a kid that….. Well, it’s risky what they wrote. We’ll see how people respond.
TVGuide.com: Speaking of Prentiss’ past, will we ever learn more about her mother, the ambassador?
Brewster: What’s kind of exciting is that at any time, the writers can create more history. But there’s nothing else this season involving my mom, who is, of course, Kate Jackson.
Wow…and Hotch figures in because he stands up for her - I guess for using her position questionably. We’ll see! This sounds like a great episode! I can’t wait.
And don’t forget: I’m going to be doing the live blogging during the show. So if you want to comment, pop in at nine.
